Outstanding Service Award

Purpose

The purpose of the Outstanding Service Award is to honor an individual who has provided outstanding service to WSRA.

Procedure for Selecting the OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD Recipient

  1. Adopt "Outstanding Service Award" as a council project and organize a local committee to select a nominee.
  2. Solicit nominations. The nominee need not be from your local council area.
  3. Gather information about your nominee. Complete the nomination form and type a description of your nominee's contributions to WSRA, your council, and to other councils. This typewritten information should not exceed two pages.
  4. Include your nominee's resume'.
  5. Submit your entry and their resume' to the Awards and Honors Committee on or before November 1 .
  6. The Awards and Honors Committee selects one individual to receive the award at the Annual WSRA Convention .

Guidelines for selection of the OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD Recipient

  1. Nominee must be a member of WSRA and a local council.
  2. Nominee should be active in both WSRA and the local council (currently or has served as a local or state officer, on a local or state committee) and participates in local and state regional reading conferences, conventions, and workshops.
  3. Nominee demonstrates leadership and is exceptionally generous in the giving of time and talents to WSRA.
  4. Nominee's achievements have resulted in a significant impact on the growth of WSRA and the local council.
