The primary purposes of CWRC are to:

• Improve the quality of reading instruction at all levels.
• Develop an awareness of the impact of reading.
• Promote the development of reading proficiency for each individual.
• Work with the legislature and DPI to promote reading activities.
• Assist area schools in developing their reading programs.
