We make finding excellent books easy!
Our Statement of Purpose: The Children’s Literature Committee shall work to promote the use of high quality, engaging, culturally diverse, inclusive literature with all students in Wisconsin.
Our Work We accomplish this through…
- critically evaluating books based on the quality of the literature, appeal for students, and value for K-8 classroom use by reading widely within our current reading cycle.
- promoting children's literature through the annual conference, workshops, publications, and social media.
- creating two annual recommendation lists, “Picture This” (picture books) & “Just One More Page” (early readers, graphic novels, and chapter books), as a central resource for Wisconsin educators to find the best of the newest books to select for use in libraries, schools, classrooms, curriculum, lessons, and read alouds. *Our annual lists are revealed at the WSRA conference in February and can be found on our websites.
